Blogger Jogging!

Taking a stroll through Blogspot.com

Small history lesson: when I first started this site I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to start a site where I could shoot my mouth off about anything and everything and have like-minded people join in the fun. So Blogspot came up on a search engine, it was free and pretty simple and - lo - the best kept secret of the Internet was born.

It's only recently I've actually began looking around at OTHER people's blogs (yeah, there are some out there believe it or not) and, as of today, began commenting on some of them. It's what I like to call Blogger Jogging, and its a sport that can open up whole new words of banality.

Seriously, you want to read some of this shit. Pointless anecdotes about people's lives (someone wrote about 1000 words on "the most hilarious day she's had in weeks" - when she was locked out of her house until she knocked on the window. A site dedicated to Mariah Carey ("everyone should go out and buy a Mariah Carey CD if you have one" - yup, I have NO idea what that means).

There are some gems, of course ("Vitriol For Dummies" looks pretty cool), but for the most part The Curmudgeon has been doing what The Curmudgeon does best - insult idiots.

So a quick heads up - you may well find the site has a few retaliation posts from these morons. If there are any "fuk U U fag" posts we'll know where they've came from.

If you have a quick Blog Jog yourself and find any tragic blogs, do let me know on here and I'll check them out for myself. And hey, if it spreads the good word of The Fortress in the meantime, that can't be a bad thing, right...?

I don't go on chatrooms much anymore, but I used to like if there was more than one room (like "lounge" or "bar" or something like that) and when someone came in I would say "hey, I was just in the bar and someone was looking for you" and it used to work almost every time.

When they came back from wherever I had sent them, they would ask who was asking after them. And I would say "oh.. Goose something. I remember - Wild Goose. Hope you enjoyed the chase."

Har de har.

i really genuinely feel sorry for you. a friend of mine who passed away lived by this phrase, "love more. hate less." think about that. you have some serious issues.

Yeah, but he's dead so that shows what HE knew.

Soapboxes can only be stood on by recognised Fortress Of Solitude members, anon. Remember that.

i made the mistake of stumbling onto the mariah carey house of freakazoids blog and my god! unimaginable! i am truly petrified! still fucking freaked out! it just confirms that mariah belongs on my list of people who must 'disappear' mysteriously in the middle of the night only to be found 7 months later, half-eaten by hyperactive poodles.

anyhoo...I like the spreading of the hate dude!

Well this is just typical - I go away for a few days and i come back to witness my very first arguement on this website.

Like you, curmudgeon, I havent been on any other blog except this one. Like i said earlier, I found this site after reading your amazon reviews and decided to join up from there. The rest, as they say..

As for "anon" - its hard to take anyone seriously when they're just that - anonymous - its also hard to take ANYONE seriously who still use phrases like "get a life."

Is it 1992 again?

Welcome to the site, Momo. Yeah, spreading the hate is an important job. You seem to do a fair bit it of yourself on your Blog, I notice (people, if you get time do check his blog out - some good stuff to be found on there).

You SEE, Anon? The Curmudgeon isn't ALL about hate - he can be complimentary and pleasant too - but only if you deserve it.

Norman - I really wish it was 1992 again. I can't wait for "bodacious" to come back into style.

Hurray! Invisiblewolfman is back and he's already cleanin' house. "Get a life"? Is this 80's nostalgia week or something? If you're going to argue exclusively using outdated and cliche' stock phrases for idiots who can't form their own arguments, at least update your limited vocabulary to include outdated phrases from the 90's like "whatever" and "don't hate". Whoomp, there it is!

the first anonymous and second anonymous are two totally different people...just to clarify.

The Curmudgeon said...

And THAT is the problem with "anonymous" posters.

So which one are you, then? The preachy one or the stupid one?

Anonymous said...

the preachy of course

Why post anonymously at all? Just make a name up. It's not like anyone's going to see my posts and say, "Hey, that trashcanman's a real asshole, I think I'll look him up in the phone book and go kick his ass!". Well, maybe some people might say that, but their chances of success would be spotty at best. Plus, anyone that dumb would probably be too busy listening to the new Gwen Stefani CD or discussing American Idol to make good on the threat.

Whoops - my mistake. I meant to say "which one are you? The stupid preachy one or the preachy one?" Slip of the finger.

Trashy - the amount of times I've been told that my days are numbered and that my computer is being traced is laughable. "I'll be at your door this time tomorrow" is still one of the saddest, funniest "threats" I've ever read.
