Question time..

Because The Curmudgeon knows dick about his own website.

Quick question for you faithful Dwellers, and it's based on a conversation I've now had twice with people I know. Said conversation goes something like this:

Them: Oh, I was on your blog yesterday.

Me: Really? Well, dammit, why didn't you write something?

Them: I can't. I have to have a blog myself before I can write anything.

Me: No you don't.

Them: Yes you do.

Me: No you.... uh, actually.. I dunno. Maybe you do.

So there you have it. My question to YOU is - is it possible to leave messages and stuff without actually having to sign up to write your own blog first? Because if it is, that's gonna put a LOT of people off coming here, and that may mean having to shape up and ship out to another message board service.

So help me out here people - IS it possible to write here without being a "Blogspotter" - or not? And if it IS possible - how do you do it?

G-mail, huh? So is it not possible with anything else? (Yahoo, Hotmail etc?)

You could always use the Proboards website and start the whole ball game over again. It would mean that anyone could join and anyone could post messages.

I don't know if you'd want that and, well, not to pour salt in any wounds but you don't really have enough "Dwellers" to warrant it. But it would solve your problem and may bring more people in.

Hmmmm.

Norman, you may well have structured the future of this site.

I have no blog and yet I post. There is an option to post your message as a "Google/Blooger", "Other", or "Anonymous". I write my comment, check "Other", put my name in the space alotted, and the deed is done. I don't think that I have a Gmail account but I'm able to post so who knows what's up with that?

I think I've decided what I'm going to do about this. And it's going to shake this entire site to its foundations.

Watch this space.
